Seeking psychotherapy requires both courage and commitment. Engaging in psychotherapy can be both blessedly calming at times and exciting at others as you gain new awareness and skills. It can also be quite difficult in moments, as we come into contact with buried (or not so buried) hurts, burdens, fears, stuck places and old ingrained and often nearly invisible patterns. Ultimately, therapy can be profoundly transformative, helping you to relate to yourself and others with more compassion, insight, clarity, authenticity, creativity and spaciousness.
I work with individuals and couples facing significant life choices, challenges and transitions in areas such as relationships, marriage, divorce, parenthood, career, health challenges, grief, creativity, spirituality, sense of self, and identity. I also have a sub-specialization in work with survivors of trauma and have worked with people who have experienced profound loss.
After we establish a safe space together and identify the most important areas of focus, I support clients to explore themselves and their lives in depth, and together we find clarification, self-compassion, and expansion of perspective. At times I will also provide psycho-education on trauma and related topics as needed, and work on skill building in areas such as emotion regulation and communication. We help you to heal and grow, enabling you to experience more joy, self-trust, equanimity and connection to self and others.
